REAR END ACCIDENT INVOLVING TRUCK KILLS ONE ON I-5 FREEWAY IN OCEANSIDE.

An elderly man died when his car rear ended a truck as he merged onto the Interstate 5. The truck, a water delivery vehicle, was pulled over and fully on the shoulder of the highway on-ramp. The 82-year-old car driver, in a Honda Civic, was entering the freeway northbound when he “drifted right” and smashed into the rearend of truck, killing him. The cause for the car driver’s actions is under investigation. Been hurt in a rear end California freeway accident? If so, call 1-800-ALAWPRO now to get your free consultation with an injury lawyer.

A mechanical failure that occurred on the freeway ramp caused the truck driver to pull over. The elderly driver may not have been looking to the right when he rear-ended the truck, or he may have had some sort of medical emergency, as it appears he made no attempt to stop prior to the crash. The truck driver was unharmed in the fatal wreck. Freeway crashes are often killers due high speeds and heavy traffic. Rear end collisions can cause serious injury and death, especially when impact is with a larger vehicle and at high speed.
