BIG RIG TRUCK ROLLOVER ACCIDENT NEAR CAMP PENDLETON: DRIVER INJURED

A big rig truck crash on the southbound I-5 freeway closed all but one lane and ignited a brush fire after the truck overturned. The driver of the big rig suffered injuries to the chest but fortunately there were no other injuries. Big rig trucking accidents potentially can be very dangerous because of their size. The truck initially hit a sports utility vehicle that had been disabled in an earlier crash that happened with a different car. The driver of the SUV was able to get out of the car in time and escaped with no injuries. However, the driver of the big rig suffered major injuries to the chest area and was transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla.
