An explosion shook a thirty story hotel building in San Diego, and nine construction workers were taken to the UCSD medical center burn unit. The accident happened around 2 pm and knocked out the northern part of the thirty story building. Four floors of the hotel were affected by the explosion. About four hundred workers were inside the hotel at the time and nine were severely injured. The nine workers had burns on over 35 percent of their bodies are receiving treatment at the medical center burn unit. Traffic was delayed for more than three hours and firefighters came to extinguish the flames. Investigators are saying that the electrical spark from the boilers might have ignited the explosion.
