NISSAN PLANS TO RECALL MORE THAN 200,000 VEHICLES DUE TO FAULTY AIRBAGS
Airbags are probably the most important feature in a car. Upon impact they protect the driver and their passenger’s vital points and lessen the shock that comes from the crash. For these reasons, it is a lot safer to travel in airbag fitted cars rather than vehicles with no airbags. Recently, there has been news that Nissan will recall 204, 361 vehicles because there is a possibility that the passenger side airbag will not deploy in the case of an accident.
This voluntary recall will cover 2007 and 2008 Nissan Altima, Altima Coupe, 350Z, Murano, and Rogue. Also, some Infiniti cars such as the G35 sedan, G37 Coupe and EX35 (built from March 12, 2007 to May 27, 2008) will be subject to a voluntary recall. This recall came into action because Nissan received several warranty reports of airbag warning lamps flashing. Recently, Nissan determined that a safety related defect existed in those cars and believes less than one percent of the vehicles contain the defect. Nissan plans to test the vehicles and replace the hardware if necessary during the recall.
