Train accidents can affect, injure and kill passengers, drivers of other vehicle and even pedestrians. While there are many devices designed to protect people from trains on the move, accidents still happen. Faulty signal lights or gates, poorly marked railroad track areas, or a lack of crosswalk can lead to people crossing train tracks and getting hit. As multiple California train accidents have piled up in the past months, officials are urging people to use caution around trains. Nevertheless, two more train crash deaths occurred in Southern California this week. If you or a loved one has been hurt or killed in a Metrolink or Amtrak train crash in LA, call 1-800-ALAWPRO to speak with a lawyer for free.

Chatsworth was the location of last year's Metrolink disaster which killed dozens and injured hundreds when a passenger train collided with a freight train. Now Chatsworth is again the site of a train-related fatality. The grab-bar of a passing Amtrak train struck and killed a woman as she and her family were walking in a narrow train tunnel. The tunnel is an “off-limits area” for pedestrians. None of the 400 passengers on the San Diego-bound train was injured. It was unclear as to why the woman was on the train tracks.
