MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT DEATHS ARE RISING IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. BIKE CRASH ATTORNEYS CAN HELP YOU NOW.

New California Highway Patrol (CHP) statistics from last year are showing an alarmingly fast rise of motorcycle fatalities from year to year. Since 2001, the number of motorcyclist deaths has almost doubled. Bike crashes involving larger vehicles including cars, SUV's, trucks and buses are often fatal. Single vehicle motorcycle crashes can be the fault of poor road design or mechanical malfunction. Lane changing on California's crowded and speedy freeways is a common culprit for motorcycle accidents. To learn more about motorcycle crashes, visit our website at www.alawpro.com. West Covina was the site of an early 2009 LA County motorcycle crash death. Two motorcycle riders died in one weekend in Ventura County already this year. One died as a a sedan turn left in front of the motorcyclist, and another died in a head-on collision with a van.

According to CHP information, in 2008 there were 96 motorcyclist deaths in LA County, eleven more than in 2007. The rise may be due to the increasing number of bikers – over 1.2 million people have a motorcycle license. Additionally certain areas and actions are particularly dangerous for motorcycles. The 10 freeway is known to be especially deadly for bikers. The motorcycle's ability to “split lanes” is a frequent cause of accident, since automobiles may not see a bike in between lane changes.
