The family of an Orange County man mistakenly killed by cops in Anaheim has filed a wrongful death suit. As police were chasing burglars, the victim exited his home, protecting his pregnant wife from noises he heard. The cops shot and killed the man, thinking he was a suspect. The amount of damages being sought by the family has not been released. Another wrongful death suit has been filed by the family of a man killed in Oakland, CA on New Year's Day. The cops were called in response to a fight on a train platform and the ensuing shooting death was caught on tape. The family is suing Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) and the police who shot the man on the BART light rail boarding station for $25 million.
