A Ramona family driving in their pickup was struck by a newer model of the same truck on Route 67 in Poway. The Ramona mother died on impact, and her two daughters were taken to the hospital by air ambulance with injuries ranging from lacerations to broken bones. They were hit by a 17 year-driver who, along with his 15-year old passenger were not seriously injured. The teenage driver's pickup allegedly hit a curb, swerved back onto the street and then crossed into oncoming traffic. Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be a factor.
