Spreading fires can level homes, destroying property and leveling structures, and authorities estimated damages from the blaze to be over $450,000. The fire is under investigation to learn if the space heater was defective or placed to close to burnable objects. Recently two California gas leaks have lead to explosions and fires which killed at least one person and injured others. Since the beginning of the cold season, two Northern California families have been victims of carbon monoxide poisoning, likely from leaky wall heaters.
