Truck accidents are extremely dangerous and often fatal. Trucks are large and head on, rear or side impact collisions at any speed can cause serious damage to body and vehicle. A fire truck crash has many implications, especially if the crash occurs when a fire engine is on “Code 3,” driving with lights and sirens, often at high speeds. If you have been involved in an accident with a fire truck or other municipal or rescue vehicle, such as a public transit bus or a police car, you may not know where to turn or who to blame. Mira Loma in Riverside County was the location of a fatal accident between a fire truck and a pickup truck. The driver of the smaller truck was killed in the wreck, and two firemen were also injured. The fire engine was on a call, speeding with sirens and lights when it hit the Dodge pick-up truck that was headed perpendicular to its path. The cause of the crash is under investigation to determine if the fire truck was following safety protocol for operating with lights and sirens, aka Code 3.
