Sadly many products are on the market that can cause consumers harm. Sometimes dangerous products are not recalled until it is too late for some victims. While a faulty or defective product may only slightly injure one person, it may severely injure another. A teenage girl was blinded in one eye by a retractable dog leash that has since been recalled. The dog leash recalled was named “SlyDog.” The girl victim was using the leash on her puppy when it retracted suddenly and hit her in the eye. The resulting retina tear led to blindness and then multiple surgeries that have not fully recovered her vision. Her family is suing the leash maker as well as the store that carried it. According to the family’s attorneys, the recall was too late, as prior to the national recall other Sly Dog incidents were reported including facial and teeth injuries.
