The most recent air crash occurred on a small plane’s approach to Butte, Montana. All on board, seven adults and seven children, died in the crash when the single-engine turboprop Pilatus PC-12 airplane nose-dived and the exploded into flames. Causes being considered for the crash include icing, overloading and equipment failure. The small airport that was to receive the plane had no radar facility. Four years ago, five people died when the same type of plane crashed in similar conditions.
The two other crashes both involved with the same type of plane: a Piper Cherokee. The light plane has a single engine, and both crashes are under investigation.
