LA CANADA-FLINTRIDGE TRUCK CRASH: UNSAFE ROAD? CONTACT CA PERSONAL INJURY LAWYERS NOW
For the second time in 6 months a big rig truck accident has occurred on the same LA area highway. With 2 dead and 13 injured between both accidents, the California Department of Transportation (CalTrans) has put a temporary ban on trucks on the Route 2 (Angeles Crest Highway). Some are saying the action is too late, and that the latest crash and fatalities could have been prevented. Dangerous roads can be the responsibility of CalTrans or other municipal authorities. Learning who is responsible for protecting residents from life-endangering conditions on Southern California roadways can be complicated. The most recent accident happened when a tractor-trailer carrying cars lost its brakes, crashing into a bookstore and other cars. The truck took a mountainous route forbidden to truckers on his way to the wreck site. Two people, a father and daughter, died in the crash and 12 others were injured. The crash occurred at an intersection of Angeles Crest Highway in La Canada Flintridge. In a September big rig truck crash on the same road, one person was injured, and local authorities asked for a truck ban at that time. Sadly it seems as thought the most recent fatal collision may have been preventable.
