BUS ACCIDENTS KILL AND INJURE DOZENS OF CALIFORNIA VICTIMS. CALL BUS CRASH ATTORNEYS OF LOS ANGELES FOR FREE ADVICE NOW.

A series of bus-related crashes have plagued California recently. Three separate accidents have killed 6 people and injured dozens more. Fire, pedestrians and freeways were involved in the crashes that included a commuter bus, a public bus and a tour bus. When buses are involved in accidents, there may be multiple parties at fault for passenger or bystander injuries or deaths. The company that chartered the bus, the bus owner, the event organizer, the bus driver, or the municipality running the bus line may all be involved in a bus accident injury. Following are details of the three recent California bus crashes:

  • A Commuter Express bus carrying 37 passengers caught on fire on Highway 101 in Calabasas. The fire burned 75% of the bus and sent one victim to the hospital. Twenty-seven passengers suffered smoke inhalation, and none were reported to have burn injuries.
  • A man died when he was hit by a public bus in Playa del Rey. The 55-year old victim was waiting for the bus on bench when a crash between a car and bus sent the vehicle into the bus stop. The bus driver was hospitalized with injures. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
  • A tour bus rolled over on a Northern California freeway, killing 4 of 36 passengers and the driver. The bus was traveling on the 101 at Soledad when it crashed on an overpass. The accident sent people flying out of the bus, one of whom plunged 70 feet to his or her death. The driver died days later of neck and head injuries, and dozens more passengers were injured. The Orion Pacific bus was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
