The fatal trench collapse occurred midday at the location of an future apartment complex in Huntington Beach. The victim and another employee were working at a trench when it collapsed, filling up with dirt and concrete. The dead worker was not unearthed for an hour, and Cal OSHA has the accident under investigation. In another trench collapse, two workers were buried- one up to his knees, and the other to his waist while working at a residential home construction site in Sylmar.
