Crashes involving cars and trucks slamming into each other can often have deadly results especially for the car occupants. Trucks, also known as tractor-trailers, semis or big rigs, are much larger than most automobiles, and their size can have a devastating effect on impact. When a semi-truck is involved in a crash, the fault may lie with the driver, the trucking company, or the business that hired the truck to haul their load. In other instances, the road on which the accident occurs may be unsafe for trucks and cars to travel together, in which case a municipal or federal entity may be to blame. For those that are not killed in truck vs. car crashes, injuries can include paralysis, broken bones and burns.
