The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission examines the safety of certain products that are used by Americans and makes sure that if safety issues arise, the products are recalled and the announcement is well known to the public. Normally, major companies who manufacture the product will cooperate with the Commission and help with the recall process. However, getting the product recall news into the public’s eye may be a difficult task and may leave many who were injured without any legal recourse. Have you or a loved one been injured by a certain product? If so, call the attorneys of The Rudman Law Firm, PLC at 1-800-252-9776 (1-800-ALAWPRO) for a free consultation of your case.

On Wednesday, August 26, 2009, over five million window blinds and coverings were recalled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission because three children died and seven more were injured by the blinds. These shades pose a danger to children because of their exposed cords and loops. There is a long list of stores participating in the recall, as well as several manufacturers listed whose products are being recalled. Six of the incidents of near strangulation have involved the Pottery Barn Kids’ Roman shades in which children have become entangled in the looped pull cords or inner cords.
