TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION RECALL MILLIONS OF CARS ACROSS CALIFORNIA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTY

Perhaps some of the most memorable recalls involve foods or children’s toys, including the tainted dog food and lead paint toy recalls. These recalls take place because companies realize that there was a design or manufacturing error with one of their products and in order to keep the public safe, they must recall the product to fix the defect or replace it with a new product. Have you been damaged by a product because of a design or manufacturing flaw, and want to learn if you can be compensated for your damages? Then you should call Greenberg & Rudman LLP to learn more about your rights—you can reach us at 1-800-252-9776 (1-800-ALAWPRO) for your free consultation.

On September 25, 2009, Toyota Motor Company recalled 3.8 million vehicles in the United States because of a safety issue involving a rubber floor mat. It is reported that the floor mat on the driver’s side of Toyota’s cars may be ill fitted or unsecured and may cause the accelerator pedal to get stuck. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration had received approximately 102 reports of incidents that may have been related to the floor mats. Until Toyota or Lexus is able to replace the rubber mat, owners of the cars should remove the mat and not replace it. The recall will affect Toyota Camry, Avalon, Prius, Tacoma, Tundra and several Lexus models.

Toyota’s previously largest recall was in 2005 when it recalled 900,000 cars because of a steering problem. These issues could lead to very serious injuries, and if you or your family members have been injured as a result of this problem, then you need to contact the law firm of Greenberg & Rudman LLP immediately for your free and confidential consultation.
